Illinois High School Basketball - Proviso East nips Proviso West
January 29, 2024: Hillside, IL 60162 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Proviso East Pirates (Maywood, IL) and the host Proviso West Panthers (Hillside, IL), saw Proviso East's basketball squad hold off Proviso West by a count of 47-44.
With the victory, Proviso East upgrades its record to 10-13 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Berwyn/Cicero Morton (Cicero, IL) to play the Mustangs in a West Suburban - Gold challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 11-10. Berwyn/Cicero Morton lost 61-46 in their recent league challenge against Willowbrook (Villa Park, IL)
Next up, the Panthers play the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies (Oak Park, IL) in a West Suburban - Silver challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Proviso West will attempt to upgrade on its 5-14 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 5-20 record after their 67-21 league loss to Downers Grove North (Downers Grove, IL).
