Midland Valley Mustangs (Graniteville, SC) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Aiken Fighting Green Hornets (Aiken, SC), 40-27 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Midland Valley upgrades its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to South Aiken (Aiken, SC) to play the Thoroughbreds in a bout on Thursday, February 1. The Thoroughbreds come into the bout with a record of 3-8. South Aiken won 24-22 in their recent non-league bout against Airport (West Columbia, SC)

Next up, the Fighting Green Hornets play the Lexington Wildcats (Lexington, SC) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 31. Aiken will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 17-0 record after their 25-15 league win over River Bluff (Lexington, SC).
