Clairton Bears (Clairton, PA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Mapletown Maples (Greensboro, PA), 54-27 in a league bout.

With the victory, Clairton upgrades its record to 11-9 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Trinity (Garfield Heights, OH) to play the Trojans in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 30. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 6-13. Trinity won 61-48 in their recent league bout against Padua Franciscan (Parma, OH)

Next up, the Maples play the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets (Jefferson, PA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 31. Mapletown will attempt to upgrade on its 5-19 season record. The Rockets come into the bout with a 13-14 record after their 58-56 league win over Frazier (Perryopolis, PA).
