Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC), 67-65 in a league bout.

With the victory, Scotland upgrades its record to 16-4 on the campaign. The Fighting Scots host Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC) to play the Patriots in a 3A/4A Conference 24 bout on Friday, February 3. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 12-8. Pinecrest won 79-36 in their recent league bout against Lee County (Sanford, NC)

Next up, the Patriots play the Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 24 bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Pinecrest will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Yellow Jackets come into the bout with a 7-11 record after their 57-47 league win over Southern Lee (Sanford, NC).
