New Mexico High School Basketball - Zuni nudges Thoreau
January 30, 2023: Thoreau, NM 87323 In Monday's league outing, the Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM) basketball squad nipped the host Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), by a margin of 62-59.
The Thunderbirds (7-9) will now prepare for their outing against Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM). The Bears go into the 3A District 1 outing with a 8-12 record. In their last outing, Wingate was tipped by Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM), 63-38, in a league outing.
The Hawks now own a 5-14 record. They play next when they travel to Newcomb for a 3A District 1 outing on Tuesday, January 31. Thoreau will clash with a Skyhawks squad coming off a 75-47 league loss to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM). The Skyhawks record now stands at 11-9.
