North Carolina High School Basketball - Central Davidson holds off Asheboro
January 30, 2024: Lexington, NC 27292 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Central Davidson Spartans (Lexington, NC) and the visiting Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC), saw Central Davidson's basketball squad hold off Asheboro by a tally of 63-60.
With the victory, Central Davidson improves its record to 19-1 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Montgomery Central (Troy, NC) to confront the Timberwolves in a 3A Mid-Piedmont challenge on Friday, February 2. The Timberwolves come into the challenge with a record of 2-13. Montgomery Central lost 73-36 in their recent league challenge against Ledford (Thomasville, NC)
Next up, the Blue Comets confront the North Davidson Black Knights (Lexington, NC) in a 3A Mid-Piedmont challenge, on Friday, February 2. Asheboro will attempt to improve on its 15-3 season record. The Black Knights come into the challenge with a 13-6 record after their 74-55 league win over Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC).
