St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks (Greensburg, LA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA), 53-43 in a league bout.

With the win, St. Helena College and Career Academy upgrades its record to 8-11 on the season. The Hawks host Bogalusa (Bogalusa, LA) to clash with the Lumberjacks in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 1. The Lumberjacks go into the bout with a record of 3-14. Bogalusa lost 56-39 in their recent league bout against Pine (Franklinton, LA)

Next up, the Jaguars clash with the Northlake Christian Wolverines (Covington, LA) in a 2A District 7 bout, on Thursday, February 1. Pope John Paul II will attempt to upgrade on its 20-7 season record. The Wolverines go into the bout with a 10-15 record after their 62-56 league win over Springfield (Springfield, LA).
