Texas High School Basketball - Zavalla overwhelms Chester
January 30, 2024: Zavalla, TX 75980 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Zavalla Eagles (Zavalla, TX) and the visiting Chester Yellowjackets (Chester, TX), saw Zavalla's basketball squad wallop Chester by a tally of 58-23.
With the victory, Zavalla improves its record to 20-8 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Leggett (Leggett, TX) to confront the Pirates in a 1A Region IV District 28 challenge on Friday, February 2. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 7-21. Leggett lost 46-28 in their recent league challenge against Goodrich (Goodrich, TX)
Next up, the Yellowjackets confront the Brookeland Wildcats (Brookeland, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 28 challenge, on Friday, February 2. Chester will attempt to improve on its 13-15 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 21-8 record after their 58-18 league win over Burkeville (Burkeville, TX).
