Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Cranford Cougars (Cranford, NJ) and the host Elizabeth Minutemen (Elizabeth, NJ), saw Cranford's basketball squad hold off Elizabeth by a tally of 47-45.

With the victory, Cranford improves its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Cougars host New Providence (New Providence, NJ) to confront the Pioneers in a Union County - Valley challenge on Thursday, February 1. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 17-3. New Providence won 55-33 in their recent non-league challenge against Westfield (Westfield, NJ)

Next up, the Minutemen confront the Roselle Catholic Lions (Roselle, NJ) in a Union County - Valley challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Elizabeth will attempt to improve on its 12-7 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 16-8 record after their 42-39 non-league win over Oak Knoll (Summit, NJ).
