January 30, 2024: Thoreau, NM 87323 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM) and the visiting Rehoboth Christian Lynx (Rehoboth, NM), saw Thoreau's basketball squad wallop Rehoboth Christian by a count of 51-26.
With the victory, Thoreau upgrades its record to 8-9 on the campaign. The Hawks host Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM) to play the Bears in a 3A District 1 challenge on Wednesday, January 31. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 7-12. Wingate lost 70-32 in their recent league test against Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM)
The Lynx now own a 8-9 record. They play next when they travel to Navajo Pine for a 2A District 1 test on Tuesday, February 6. Rehoboth Christian will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 42-39 non-league loss to Northwest (Shiprock, NM). The Warriors record now stands at 2-18.
