January 30, 2025: Gretna, LA 70053 St. Charles Catholic Comets (LaPlace, LA) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Thomas Jefferson (Gretna, LA), 67-57 in a non-league match.
With the victory, St. Charles Catholic upgrades its record to 16-17 on the year. The Comets host Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (Kenner, LA) to face the Swamp Owls in a 4A District 9 match on Friday, January 31. The Swamp Owls enter the match with a record of 9-14. Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy won 45-25 in their recent non-league match against Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy (Westwego, LA)
The now sport a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Destrehan for a non-league match on Saturday, February 1. Thomas Jefferson will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 78-28 non-league win over New Orleans Charter Science & Math (New Orleans, LA). The Wildcats record now stands at 23-16.
