The Kankakee Kays basketball team scored 72 points and limited the visiting Thornwood Thunderbirds to 61 in the Kays league triumph on Friday.

The Kays now possess a 18-1 record. They play next when they travel to Chicago Mt. Carmel for a non-league game on Sunday, February 1. Kankakee will confront a Caravan team coming off a 68-34 non-league win over Blue Island Eisenhower (Blue Island, IL). The Caravan record now stands at 16-7.

With the loss, Thornwood falls to 15-9 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds travel to Thornton (Harvey, IL) to play the Wildcats in a Southland bout on Tuesday, February 3. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 10-10. Thornton won 60-51 in their recent league test against Thornridge (Dolton, IL)
