The Hibriten Panthers basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Watauga Pioneers to 45 in the Panthers league triumph on Monday.

The Panthers now sport a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ashe County for a 3A/4A Conference 52 contest on Tuesday, February 1. Hibriten will meet a Huskies team coming off a 50-41 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 13-5.

The Pioneers (17-2) will now prepare for their contest against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Cougars enter the 3A/4A Conference 52 contest with a 15-3 record. In their last challenge, Alexander Central was edged by Freedom (Morganton, NC), 59-53, in a league challenge.
