Illinois High School Basketball - Taylorville nips Lanphier
January 31, 2022: Springfield, IL 62702 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Taylorville Tornadoes (Taylorville, IL) and the host Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL), saw Taylorville's basketball squad hold off Lanphier by a count of 52-47.
With the victory, Taylorville upgrades its record to 14-10 on the campaign. The Tornadoes host Mattoon (Mattoon, IL) to play the Green Wave in a Apollo challenge on Tuesday, February 1. The Green Wave come into the challenge with a record of 23-2. Mattoon won 64-28 in their recent non-league challenge against Richland County (Olney, IL)
Next up, the Lions play the Jacksonville Crimsons (Jacksonville, IL) in a Central State Eight challenge, on Tuesday, February 1. Lanphier will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Crimsons come into the challenge with a 5-23 record after their 62-22 league loss to Springfield Southeast (Springfield, IL).
