North Carolina High School Basketball - West Columbus over South Columbus
January 31, 2023: Cerro Gordo, NC 28430 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the West Columbus Vikings (Cerro Gordo, NC) and the visiting South Columbus Stallions (Tabor City, NC), saw West Columbus's basketball squad overcome South Columbus by a tally of 67-57.
With the victory, West Columbus improves its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Whiteville (Whiteville, NC) to confront the Wolfpack in a 1A/2A Conference 5 challenge on Friday, February 3. The Wolfpack come into the challenge with a record of 4-14. Whiteville lost 55-42 in their recent non-league challenge against South Brunswick (Southport, NC)
Next up, the Stallions confront the Heide Trask Titans (Rocky Point, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 5 challenge, on Friday, February 3. South Columbus will attempt to improve on its 7-11 season record. The Titans come into the challenge with a 17-4 record after their 61-60 non-league win over Wallace-Rose Hill (Teachey, NC).
