New Mexico High School Basketball - Sandia holds off West Mesa
January 31, 2023: Albuquerque, NM 87110 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM), saw Sandia's basketball squad hold off West Mesa by a tally of 43-42.
With the victory, Sandia improves its record to 6-2 on the campaign. The Matadors travel to Cibola (Albuquerque, NM) to confront the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 2. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 3-6. Cibola lost 49-34 in their recent non-league challenge against Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM)
Next up, the Mustangs confront the Del Norte Knights (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 2. West Mesa will attempt to improve on its 6-7 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 1-8 record after their 48-12 non-league loss to Hope Christian (Albuquerque, NM).
