Sigourney Savages (Sigourney, IA) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting English Valleys Bears (North English, IA), 54-41 in a league match.

With the victory, Sigourney upgrades its record to 16-4 on the year. The Savages travel to Iowa Valley (Marengo, IA) to face the Tigers in a South Iowa Cedar match on Tuesday, February 4. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 5-13.

The Bears now sport a 9-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cedar Valley Christian for a non-league match on Monday, February 3. English Valleys will face a Huskies squad coming off a 59-27 non-league loss to Colo-NESCO (Colo, IA). The Huskies record now stands at 0-15.
