The Newhalen Malamutes basketball team scored 59 points and held the host Kali Wolverines to 29 in the Malamutes non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Malamutes now sport a 15-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Shishmaref for a non-league contest on Friday, February 2. Newhalen will battle a Northern Lights team coming off a 65-24 league win over Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial (Savoonga, AK). The Northern Lights record now stands at 2-4.
