February 1, 2024: Norton, VA 24273 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Holston Cavaliers (Damascus, VA) and the host J.I. Burton Black Raiders (Norton, VA), saw Holston's basketball squad hold off J.I. Burton by a tally of 36-33.
With the victory, Holston improves its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Cavaliers travel to Chilhowie (Chilhowie, VA) to confront the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 2. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 13-1. Chilhowie won 49-43 in their recent non-league challenge against Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA)
Next up, the Black Raiders confront the Eastside Spartans (Coeburn, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 2. J.I. Burton will attempt to improve on its 0-6 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 5-2 record after their 52-43 non-league win over Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA).
