Ohio High School Basketball - Genoa Area bested by Central Catholic
February 1, 2025: Toledo, OH 43608 Central Catholic Fighting Irish (Toledo, OH) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Genoa Area Comets (Genoa, OH), 67-59 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Central Catholic advances its record to 4-14 on the year. The Fighting Irish travel to St. Ursula Academy (Toledo, OH) to face the Arrows in a Freelance match on Monday, February 3. The Arrows enter the match with a record of 2-17. St. Ursula Academy lost 71-27 in their recent league match against Lumen Christi Catholic (Jackson, MI)
The Comets now own a 15-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bryan for a non-league match on Tuesday, February 4. Genoa Area will face a Golden Bears squad coming off a 46-44 non-league win over Liberty-Benton (Findlay, OH). The Golden Bears record now stands at 11-8.
