The South Central Falcons (Winterville, NC) basketball edged the host Overhills Jaguars (Spring Lake, NC), 56-49 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Falcons now possess a 15-4 record. They play next when they host Northside - Jacksonville for a 3A/4A Big Carolina bout on Monday, February 3. South Central will play a Monarchs team coming off a 45-40 league loss to J.H. Rose (Greenville, NC). The Monarchs record now stands at 6-7.

With the loss, Overhills falls to 12-8 on the campaign. The Jaguars host Harnett Central (Angier, NC) to play the Trojans in a 3A/4A All-American bout on Tuesday, February 4. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 2-15. Harnett Central lost 69-9 in their recent league bout against Terry Sanford (Fayetteville, NC)
