North Carolina High School Basketball - Madison overwhelmed by Avery County
February 2, 2022: Marshall, NC 28753 The Avery County Vikings basketball team scored 78 points and restricted the host Madison Patriots to 49 in the Vikings league victory on Wednesday.
The Vikings now sport a 11-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Owen for a 1A/2A Conference 42 contest on Friday, February 4. Avery County will battle a Warhorses team coming off a 79-53 league loss to Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Warhorses record now stands at 1-16.
The Patriots (3-13) will now prepare for their contest against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars come into the 1A/2A Conference 42 contest with a 12-4 record. In their last contest, Mountain Heritage triumphed over Mitchell (Bakersville, NC), 76-54, in a league contest.
