Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Bishop Walsh Spartans (Cumberland, MD), 81-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mountain Ridge upgrades its record to 10-7 on the season. The Miners travel to Fort Hill (Cumberland, MD) to clash with the Sentinels in a Appalachian bout on Wednesday, February 7. The Sentinels go into the bout with a record of 13-3.

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Morgantown Christian Academy Mustangs (Morgantown, WV) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 9. Bishop Walsh will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 11-3 record after their 49-44 league loss to Pipestem Christian Academy (Pipestem, WV).
