February 2, 2024: Merkel, TX 79536 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Jim Ned Indians (Tuscola, TX) and the host Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX), saw Jim Ned's basketball squad wallop Merkel by a tally of 81-47.
With the victory, Jim Ned improves its record to 22-8 on the campaign. The Indians host Clyde (Clyde, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A Region I District 6 challenge on Tuesday, February 6. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 17-9.
Next up, the Badgers play the Wall Hawks (Wall, TX) in a 3A Region I District 6 challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Merkel will attempt to improve on its 12-11 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 14-6 record after their 56-44 league win over Coahoma (Coahoma, TX).
