The Iron Mountain Mountaineers basketball team scored 48 points and held the host Manistique Emeralds to 34 in the Mountaineers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Mountaineers now sport a 4-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Westwood for a Western Peninsula contest on Tuesday, February 8. Iron Mountain will meet a Patriots team coming off a 42-37 league loss to Ishpeming (Ishpeming, MI). The Patriots record now stands at 9-5.

The Emeralds (2-11) will now prepare for their contest against Gladstone (Gladstone, MI). The Braves enter the Great Northern U.P. contest with a 4-7 record. In their last contest, Gladstone was defeated by Menominee (Menominee, MI), 36-12, in a league contest.
