In Friday's league outing, the Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC) basketball squad felled the visiting McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), by a margin of 67-47.

The Cougars (5-16) will now prepare for their outing against North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC). The Black Hawks go into the 3A/4A Conference 53 outing with a 12-9 record. In their last outing, North Buncombe was beaten by Enka (Enka, NC), 85-77, in a league outing.

The Titans now own a 10-10 record. They play next when they travel to Erwin for a 3A/4A Conference 53 outing on Tuesday, February 7. McDowell will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 68-39 league loss to T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 4-18.
