Cathedral Fighting Irish (El Paso, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Fabens Wildcats (Fabens, TX), 46-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cathedral upgrades its record to 15-14 on the season. The Fighting Irish travel to Immanuel Christian (El Paso, TX) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 21-6. Immanuel Christian won 58-38 in their recent non-league bout against Varsity Opponent (, )

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the San Elizario Eagles (San Elizario, TX) in a 4A Region I District 2 bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Fabens will attempt to upgrade on its 5-19 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 17-12 record after their 47-41 league win over Mountain View (El Paso, TX).
