Wisconsin High School Basketball - Pacelli nips Marathon
February 3, 2023: Marathon, WI 54448 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Pacelli Cardinals (Stevens Point, WI) and the host Marathon Red Raiders (Marathon, WI), saw Pacelli's basketball squad hold off Marathon by a tally of 41-39.
With the victory, Pacelli improves its record to 11-9 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Pittsville (Pittsville, WI) to play the Panthers in a Central Wisconsin - South challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 12-7. Pittsville won 54-21 in their recent league challenge against Tri-County (Plainfield, WI)
Next up, the Red Raiders play the Newman Fighting Cardinals (Wausau, WI) in a Marawood - South challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Marathon will attempt to improve on its 8-9 season record. The Fighting Cardinals come into the challenge with a 6-11 record after their 60-40 non-league win over Rib Lake (Rib Lake, WI).
