Utah High School Basketball - Lehi overwhelms Orem
February 3, 2023: Lehi, UT 84043 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Lehi Pioneers (Lehi, UT) and the visiting Orem Tigers (Orem, UT), saw Lehi's basketball squad wallop Orem by a tally of 67-23.
With the victory, Lehi improves its record to 18-0 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Jordan (Sandy, UT) to confront the Beetdiggers in a challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Beetdiggers come into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Jordan lost 46-33 in their recent league challenge against Lehi (Lehi, UT)
First Quarter
Six players scored for Lehi in the first quarter for a total of 19 points. Phoenix Sweat and Mackinzie Jepson made three-pointers in the period. The Lehi held Orem scoreless.
Second Quarter
Phoenix Sweat had a 13- point second quarter as Lehi scored a total of 24 points. Phoenix had one three-pointer. Mackinzie Bailey and Ava Makin also each hit a three. Orem only managed 5 points and the score at the end of the first half is 43 to 5 in favor of Lehi.
Third Quarter
The Pioneer Sophomores girls took over and outscored the Orem JV team 13 to 5 in the third quarter. Madi Andrews and Ezzy Mease each made a three-pointer in the period. The score going into the final quarter is Lehi 56 and Orem 10.
Fourth Quarter
Orem won the fourth quarter outscoring Lehi 13 to 11. The final score is Lehi 67 and Orem 23. 17 players scored for Lehi in the game.
