Illinois High School Basketball - Elverado knocks off Dongola
February 3, 2025: Elkville, IL 62932 The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Elverado Falcons (Elkville, IL) and the visiting Dongola Demons (Dongola, IL), observed Elverado's basketball team overcome Dongola by a score of 59-50.
The Falcons (10-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Shawnee (Wolf Lake, IL). The Redskins come into the South Egyptian challenge with a 2-17 record. In their last challenge, Shawnee dropped by Pope County (Golconda, IL), 69-51, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Demons battle the Cobden Appleknockers (Cobden, IL) in a South Egyptian challenge, on Thursday, February 6. Dongola will attempt to improve on its 10-12 season record. The Appleknockers come into the challenge with a 11-13 record after their 77-15 non-league loss to Steeleville (Steeleville, IL).
