Virginia High School Basketball - George Wythe triumphant over Galax
February 3, 2025: Wytheville, VA 24382 The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) and the visiting Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA), observed George Wythe's basketball team overwhelm Galax by a margin of 79-44.
The Maroons (15-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Blue Devils come into the Mountain Empire challenge with a 3-11 record. In their last challenge, Grayson County was trounced by Auburn (Riner, VA), 53-47, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Maroon Tide battle the Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA) in a Mountain Empire challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Galax will attempt to better on its 1-11 season record. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a 13-6 record after their 93-48 league loss to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA).
