February 3, 2025: Verona, MO 65769 East Newton Patriots (Granby, MO) supporters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Verona Wildcats (Verona, MO), 67-23 in a non-league match.
With the victory, East Newton advances its record to 8-6 on the year. The Patriots host Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, MO) to face the Mountaineers in a Big 8 match on Thursday, February 6. The Mountaineers enter the match with a record of 7-10. Mt. Vernon won 50-49 in their recent league match against McDonald County (Anderson, MO)
The Wildcats now own a 4-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hurley for a non-league match on Tuesday, February 4.
