Simmons Blue Devils (Hollandale, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Riverside Bulldogs (Avon, MS), 66-56 in a league bout.

With the win, Simmons upgrades its record to 13-4 on the season. The Blue Devils host J.Z. George (North Carrollton, MS) to confront the Jaguars in a 2A Region 3 challenge on Friday, February 7. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 3-15. J.Z. George lost 51-45 in their recent league challenge against Leland (Leland, MS)

Next up, the Bulldogs confront the West Bolivar Eagles (Rosedale, MS) in a 2A Region 3 challenge, on Friday, February 7. Riverside will attempt to improve on its 8-14 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 13-13 record after their 66-51 league win over South Delta (Rolling Fork, MS).
