In Tuesday's league outing, the Stone Tomcats (Wiggins, MS) basketball squad beat the visiting Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS), by a count of 65-52.

The Tomcats now sport a 17-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Jones for a non-league contest on Friday, February 7. Stone will battle a Braves team coming off a 98-51 non-league loss to Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS). The Braves record now stands at 8-16.

The Tornadoes (20-5) will now prepare for their contest against Sumrall (Sumrall, MS). The Bobcats enter the 4A Region 7 contest with a 5-14 record. In their last contest, Sumrall was defeated by Forrest County Agricultural (Brooklyn, MS), 72-42, in a league contest.
