Washington High School Basketball - Vashon Island holds off Charles Wright
February 4, 2022: Vashon Island, WA 98070 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Vashon Island Pirates (Vashon Island, WA) and the visiting Charles Wright Tarriers (Tacoma, WA), saw Vashon Island's basketball squad hold off Charles Wright by a tally of 36-31.
With the victory, Vashon Island improves its record to 4-10 on the campaign. The Pirates host Chimacum (Chimacum, WA) to confront the Cowboys in a 1A Nisqually challenge on Monday, February 7. The Cowboys come into the challenge with a record of 4-11. Chimacum won 51-44 in their recent league challenge against Klahowya (Silverdale, WA)
Next up, the Tarriers confront the Annie Wright Gators (Tacoma, WA) in a 1A Nisqually challenge, on Tuesday, February 8. Charles Wright will attempt to improve on its 3-13 season record. The Gators come into the challenge with a 16-2 record after their 70-37 league win over Bellevue Christian (Clyde Hill, WA).
