The Mallard Creek Mavericks basketball team scored 57 points and restricted the host Hough Huskies to 50 in the Mavericks league victory on Friday.

The Mavericks now sport a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Chambers for a 3A/4A Conference 60 contest on Monday, February 7. Mallard Creek will battle a Cougars team coming off a 75-73 league win over North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 16-5.

The Huskies (5-16) will now prepare for their contest against West Cabarrus (Concord, NC). The Wolverines come into the non-league contest with a 10-11 record. In their last contest, West Cabarrus was nudged by Mooresville (Mooresville, NC), 69-59, in a league contest.
