South Dakota High School Basketball - Mitchell edges Spearfish
February 4, 2023: Spearfish, SD 57783 The Mitchell Kernels (Mitchell, SD) basketball nipped the host Spearfish Spartans (Spearfish, SD), 56-52 in Saturday's league test.
The Kernels (8-6) will now prepare for their test against Aberdeen Central (Aberdeen, SD). The Golden Eagles go into the AA test with a 4-8 record. In their last test, Aberdeen Central was tipped by Harrisburg (Harrisburg, SD), 40-38, in a league test.
The Spartans now own a 5-8 record. They play next when they travel to Sturgis Brown for a AA test on Tuesday, February 7. Spearfish will encounter a Scoopers squad coming off a 58-38 league loss to Huron (Huron, SD). The Scoopers record now stands at 1-12.
