February 4, 2025: Seneca, KS 66538 Hiawatha Red Hawks (Hiawatha, KS) supporters left the game happy Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Nemaha Central Thunder (Seneca, KS), 47-46 in a league match.
With the victory, Hiawatha advances its record to 5-9 on the year. The Red Hawks host Riley County (Riley, KS) to face the Falcons in a Big East match on Friday, February 7. The Falcons enter the match with a record of 4-10. Riley County lost 63-59 in their recent league match against Silver Lake (Silver Lake, KS)
The Thunder now own a 13-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Silver Lake for a Big East match on Friday, February 7. Nemaha Central will face a Eagles squad coming off a 48-36 league win over Holton (Holton, KS). The Eagles record now stands at 10-3.
