Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the WestSide Renegades (Clear Fork, WV) and the visiting Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV), saw WestSide's basketball squad hold off Independence by a score of 49-45.

With the victory, WestSide improves its record to 5-10 on the campaign. The Renegades travel to Scott (Madison, WV) to play the Skyhawks in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, February 6. The Skyhawks come into the challenge with a record of 12-4. Scott won 65-54 in their recent non-league challenge against Ballou (Washington, DC)

Next up, the Patriots play the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders (Prosperity, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 8. Independence will attempt to improve on its 8-7 season record. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a 7-12 record after their 62-45 non-league loss to Sissonville (Charleston, WV).
