Virginia High School Basketball - Lakeland nudges Smithfield
February 5, 2024: Smithfield, VA 23430 Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Smithfield Packers (Smithfield, VA), 60-59 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Lakeland upgrades its record to 3-15 on the season. The Cavaliers travel to Grassfield (Chesapeake, VA) to clash with the Grizzlies in a Southeastern bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Grizzlies go into the bout with a record of 9-9. Grassfield won 60-59 in their recent non-league bout against Meadowbrook (Richmond, VA)
Next up, the Packers clash with the Jamestown Eagles (Williamsburg, VA) in a Bay Rivers bout, on Wednesday, February 7. Smithfield will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 7-10 record after their 80-52 league loss to Bruton (Williamsburg, VA).
