The Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish basketball team scored 48 points and held the host St. Edward Green Wave to 34 in the Fightin' Irish league triumph on Monday.

The Fightin' Irish now sport a 17-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ridgewood for a Metro Suburban contest on Tuesday, February 7. Bishop McNamara will battle a Rebels team coming off a 59-36 non-league win over Francis W. Parker (Chicago, IL). The Rebels record now stands at 12-13.

The Green Wave (7-23) will now prepare for their contest against Wheaton Academy (West Chicago, IL). The Warriors enter the Metro Suburban contest with a 14-9 record. In their last contest, Wheaton Academy ran past Elmwood Park (Elmwood Park, IL), 48-30, in a league contest.
