Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Bandys Trojans (Catawba, NC), 92-86 in a league bout.

With the win, Newton-Conover upgrades its record to 16-5 on the season. The Red Devils host West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC) to play the Rebels in a 2A Catawba Valley bout on Friday, February 9. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 3-18. West Lincoln lost 81-44 in their recent league bout against West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC)

Next up, the Trojans play the Maiden Blue Devils (Maiden, NC) in a 2A Catawba Valley bout, on Friday, February 9. Bandys will attempt to upgrade on its 15-6 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 13-8 record after their 74-28 league win over Bunker Hill (Claremont, NC).
