The Coronado (Gallina, NM) varsity basketball team won Tuesday's home conference game against Evangel Christian Academy/Oak Grove Classical Academy (Albuquerque, NM) in overtime by a score of 39-35.
The Coronado Leopards basketball team scored 38 points and held the visiting Evangel Christian Academy/Oak Grove Classical Academy Eagle to 33 in the Leopards league triumph on Tuesday.
The Leopards now sport a 4-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Legacy Academy for a A District 7 contest on Thursday, February 8. Coronado will battle a Silverbacks team coming off a 57-13 league win over New Mexico School for the Deaf (Santa Fe, NM). The Silverbacks record now stands at 9-9.
The Eagle (6-12) will now prepare for their contest against Jemez Valley (Jemez Pueblo, NM). The Warriors enter the A District 7 contest with a 15-4 record. In their last contest, Jemez Valley nudged Tierra Encantada (Santa Fe, NM), 57-4, in a non-league contest.
