Valley View Tigers (Pharr, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hidalgo Pirates (Hidalgo, TX), 8-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now sport a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they host La Feria for a non-league challenge on Friday, February 9.

With the loss, Hidalgo falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Economedes (Edinburg, TX) to face the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 15. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 1-0.
