February 7, 2023: Tabor City, NC 28463

East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host South Columbus Stallions (Tabor City, NC), 57-55 in a league bout.

With the victory, East Columbus upgrades its record to 6-12 on the campaign. The Gators travel to West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC) to play the Vikings in a 1A/2A Conference 5 bout on Friday, February 10. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 9-9. West Columbus won 58-54 in their recent league bout against Pender (Burgaw, NC)

Next up, the Stallions confront the Whiteville Wolfpack (Whiteville, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 5 battle, on Friday, February 10. South Columbus will attempt to improve on its 7-13 season record. The Wolfpack come into the battle with a 5-15 record after their 70-33 league loss to Heide Trask (Rocky Point, NC).
