Goddard Rockets (Roswell, NM) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lovington Wildcats (Lovington, NM), 40-24 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Goddard upgrades its record to 7-7 on the season. The Rockets host Portales (Portales, NM) to clash with the Rams in a non-league bout on Friday, February 10. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 4-1.

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Artesia Bulldogs (Artesia, NM) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 10. Lovington will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 49-38 non-league loss to Goddard (Roswell, NM).
