Utah High School Basketball - Jordan trounced by Lehi
February 7, 2023: Sandy, UT 84070 In Tuesday's league match, the visiting Lehi Pioneers basketball team scored a decisive 71-26 triumph over the Jordan Beetdiggers.
In their next game, the Pioneers face the Mountain View Bruins (Orem, UT) in a match, on Friday, February 10. Lehi will attempt to move on its 19-0 season record. The Bruins enter the match with a 0-1 record after their 35-25 league loss to Lehi (Lehi, UT).
With the defeat, Jordan moves to 0-2 on the year.
First Quarter
Lehi made three 3-pointers in the first quarter and ended with 19 points. Jordan scored 11 points and the score at the end of the first quarter is Lehi 19 and Jordan 11.
Second Quarter
Lehi continued to play great and ended scoring 20 points in the second quarter. Brynlee Cook made two three-pointers in the period. Jordan scored 8 points and the score at the end of the first half is Lehi 39 and Jordan 19.
Third Quarter
Lehi outscored Jordan 20 to 5 to extend the lead to 35 points by the end of the third quarter. Brynlee Cook made two three's and Ava Makin added one. The score at the end of the third quarter is 59 to 24 in favor of the PIoneers.
Fourth Quarter
Lehi scored 12 points in the fourth quarter with 3 three-pointers and 1 two-pointer. Phoenix Sweat, Lily Worthan, and Brytinn Simmons made the three's for Lehi. The final score is Lehi 71 and Jordan 26. The Lehi girls JV team remains undefeated for the season.
