Monroe Central Seminoles (Woodsfield, OH) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Martins Ferry Purple Riders (Martins Ferry, OH), 58-50 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Monroe Central upgrades its record to 17-5 on the season. The Seminoles host Bridgeport (Bridgeport, OH) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Wednesday, February 21. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 7-14. Bridgeport won 42-40 in their recent non-league bout against Magnolia (New Martinsville, WV)
