Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting NCSSM: Morganton Dragons (Morganton, NC), 75-46 in a league match.

With the victory, Draughn advances its record to 7-14 on the year. The Wildcats host Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC) to face the Cougars in a 1A/2A Western Highlands match on Tuesday, February 11. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 17-2. Mountain Heritage won 70-51 in their recent league match against Madison (Marshall, NC)

The Dragons now own a 4-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Avery County for a 1A/2A Western Highlands match on Monday, February 10. NCSSM: Morganton will face a Vikings squad coming off a 70-58 league loss to Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 11-9.
