In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Freedom Patriots basketball team scored a big 78-16 triumph over the Ashe County Huskies.

The Patriots (13-4) will now prepare for their contest against Watauga (Boone, NC). The Pioneers go into the contest with a 13-2 record. In their last contest, Watauga smashed Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 71-28, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Huskies battle the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, February 11. Ashe County will attempt to better on its 0-15 season record. The Spartans go into the contest with a 8-9 record after their 64-33 league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC).
